What is CANMAB?

CANMAB is a type of medicine called a monoclonal antibody. It is used to treat certain cancers that have a specific protein called HER2.

When is CANMAB Used?

CANMAB is recommended for:
- Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC): For patients with tumors that have high levels of HER2.
- Early Breast Cancer (EBC): For adults with HER2-positive early-stage breast cancer.
- Metastatic Gastric Cancer (MGC): For patients with HER2-positive stomach or gastroesophageal junction cancer who haven’t had prior cancer treatments. It is often used with other medications like capecitabine, 5-fluorouracil, and cisplatin.

How is CANMAB Given?

Form: CANMAB is given through an IV (intravenous infusion).
Recommended Dosing schedule, the actual may be customised basis your requirement by your treating doctor
For a 3-Weekly Treatment Plan:
Loading Dose: Start with 8 mg for every kg of your body weight, given over about 90 minutes.
Maintenance Dose: After three weeks, you’ll receive 6 mg for every kg of your body weight, also given over 30 minutes.
For a Weekly Treatment Plan:
Loading Dose: Start with 4 mg for every kg of your body weight, given over about 90 minutes.
Maintenance Dose: After one week, you’ll receive 2 mg for every kg of your body weight, also given over 30 minutes.

Important Notes:

- If you tolerate the first dose well, your future doses can be given more quickly, in about 30 minutes.
- Your healthcare team will monitor you during treatment to ensure everything goes smoothly.
